Microsoft a mighty rival for the smartphone industry is in a constant move to prove itself the mighty best. It has publicly announced at a conference in Barcelona that a new version of the operating system present in the software shall be released for the Windows Mobile 7 for the first time.
It was a long wait since the version was due as the IT giant plans to pit it against the rivals like Apple Inc. and Google to gain a technological edge. Its user interface is more akin to the HD music player of Microsoft –Zune.
The revelations do not stop here it’s in the air that Microsoft plans to launch a new mobile platform which will focus on social -networking and encircle the teenagers. It is pitched against the T-mobile’s Sidekick which also targets the same segment.
Currently Microsoft is at third position, behind RIM And Apple respectively. A constant decline in the market share has been seen due to attrition and impatient nature of users. The Windows platform does not provide a flexible option when a user changes to a new smartphone.
