A study involving a relationship between mindfulness training (MT) and improvements in mood and working memory showed positive outcomes in US military group who were readying themselves for Iraq deployment.
Mindfulness is the skill to be alert and conscientious of the present moment without emotional reactivity or instability.
It was stated that if a quality amount of time is spent on daily engagement in ‘Mindfulness exercises’ – like focusing on breath and mindful movements can maintain the mood remain stable and also the working memory shall be cautious too. It is also termed to have a cognitive effect (psychological processes involved in acquisition and understanding of knowledge) on thought process and emotional stability. Functional impairments such as high stress atmosphere, which involves lot of self – cautiousness, emotional regulation can be tackled via this activity of mindfulness.
This process of mindfulness activity can be very helpful for professions which involve a lot of stress. The focusing abilities can be increased at the same time moods can be altered aiding in proper functioning of brain from a refreshed state.
