In the coming week we will see the release of Motorola’s Droid X on the Verizon network. The precise date of the launch is July 15th and will be a 3G phone; the price of the phone is $199 down after a $100 rebate and a two year contract. Much before its release there is buzz about the impressive features that the device will bring into the users hands. The company is expecting high sales records from the phone and also a very huge demand of the phone in the market.
The major difference between the other smart phones and the upcoming Droid X is the long battery life that has been promised by Motorola to come up with the phone that is usually lacking in the phones that are high on features. Firstly the phone has a large 4.3 inch display and has been good in all dimensions of style speed and size. Droid X is powered by a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of memory besides the phone comes with an on board 8GB memory and a 16GB microSD card that can be upgraded to 32GB.

Verizon has relied heavily on this fact during the campaigning for the Droid X and criticizing the iPhone for having a single design antenna and many problems associated with it. This means that Google’s suite of mobile services also is available, including Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps Navigation. Other notable features are 720p high-definition video, micro HDMI port that lets you link it to a high-definition TV.
But one of the disadvantages of the phone is that it is way too bulky making it a little difficult to handle compared to other phones. Still some find this size a boon for the phone allowing a larger touch space and with a large screen comes other advantages like the larger text and bigger buttons.
Though the phone will not be able to come up to the iPhone in terms of features and sales but still there are huge expectations tied with the phone. It’s expected to make quite a flutter in the market, Best Buy has already undergone two pre-order rounds for the phone. Further the device will be looking to cash on the recent controversies that have been surrounding the iPhone.
