Nintendo is taking everyone to court by announcing today the development of a new DS, called 3DS temporarily, which will offer games in relief (without glasses) and backward compatibility with DS classic titles. The Release is expected before March 2011.
The Nintendo DS2 has been confirmed by Nintendo today, through a press release as short as explicit. A surprising announcement from Nintendo, because then no one imagined that the firm would dare implement the 3D console portable dual screen. This Nintendo 3DS than likely to carry a more powerful hardware than the current DSi (the latest iteration in time, DSi XL is available in test here), and power could well be equivalent to that of a GameCube, as well the likely integration of an accelerometer, engine vibration, and larger screens and more close to each other. Please note that Nintendo suggests an exit before the end of the fiscal year (March 2011), which could mean an exit from the machine before the end of 2010 for example on the eve or season of Christmas may be.
“Nintendo will launch its Nintendo 3DS (temporary name) during fiscal year 2011 that ends in late March, where players can enjoy games with 3D effects without the need to wear any special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS is the new portable console Nintendo DS family, whose combined sales amounted to 125 million units worldwide to end in December 2009 and will be backward compatible, so you can also enjoy games and DS DSi. We will reveal new details at E3 next to be held from June 15, 2010 in Los Angeles. ”
That means Nintendo will demonstrate its console at E3 in June and announced that games for DS will be compatible with 3DS – that it will not be available before 2011 (known in Japan in March and Christmas for the rest of world)!
