In 80 International Motor Show at Geneva, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan Motor Co.. Ltd, presented a completely new Micra – the fourth generation of the legendary city car.
Sales of the new Micra will start in March in Thailand in November this year in Europe New Micra, designed and built at Nissan’s new platform V, developed under the assumptions of the new engineering complex. The car has been designed and tested in Japan as a vehicle intended for production at four locations around the world and adapted to the varied tastes and needs of customers in 160 countries.
European customers were prepared to offer a simple, consisting of two drive units. Both engines are completely new variety HR12 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Inheriting its DNA from the HR16 4-cylinder engine powering the Note and Qashqai, the new engine employs valve-timing control (VTC). Power is rated at 59kW (80ps, while torque output is 108Nm. At only 115g/km, CO2 emissions for this version are world-class.
In addition to the new normally aspirated engine, Nissan will also offer supercharged 1.2-litre direct injection iteration with a start-stop system fitted as standard in Europe. These technological innovations – stop-start reduces CO2 by six per cent – combine to offer spirited performance, with outputs of 72kW (98PS) and 142Nm of torque. Emissions will be just 95g/km, an exceptional achievement for a petrol engine.
Both engines will be available in Europe, with five-speed manual gearbox or a completely new continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). CVT gearbox was first in the world coupled with an additional planetary gear, which provides greater translation. Smaller pulleys allowed to reduce the weight of the gear by 10 percent. compared with the previous Nissan CVT boxes ,wide range of gear accompanying the engine with a capacity of 1.2 liter possible to obtain a comparable economy with an engine capacity of 1 liter, without prejudice to the dynamism and flexibility.
