No Chinese Schools involved in Google Hack

Two schools in China have denied any of their involvement in Google hack. There was an accusation of computers of these two schools being reportedly linked to cyberattacks on Google and other companies. But both the school officials have denied the fact in front of Chinese state media.

Earlier Investigators have accused Shanghai Jiaotong University and Lanxiang Vocational School of involvement in the hack. They have traced the attacks back to computers at these two institutions. Shanghai Jiaotong University is one of China’s top universities and Lanxiang Vocational School which is in eastern Shandong region, has around 20,000 students learning skills such as cooking, car repair and hairdressing. Shanghai university have discarded the allegation saying it is baseless, shocking and offending. The spokespersons strongly denied any link to students or teachers at the school.

Last month Google said that it has planned to stop censoring results on its China-based search engine due to some serious cyberattacks apparently launched from China. Incidentally, the New York Times informed that may not mean the attacks were launched from those computers.

Because the attackers could have used the schools IP (Internet Protocol) addresses elsewhere seeking to hide their location.
