“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” An Insight Review

Concepted by Bryan Lee O’Malley based on the graphic novel reproduced by Director/producer/co-writer Edgar Wright gave a surprise smart screening for the crowd. Under the panel of Universal Pictures’ successfully promoted the screening of “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” He played all the marketing and promotion gimmicks to pull the huge crowd. He invited anyone handed a button marked with 8-bit rendition of the title character’s face at the start of the session to follow the filmmaker to a world premiere screening of the movie.
“Would you people like to follow me to the theatre right now to watch the film?” he asked.

Edgar Wright himself jelled with the huge crowd of about 6,000 convention goers leaving the cast members of the movie behind. Outside the San Diego Convention Centre hundreds of fans who made it into surprise screening roared for the “Mortal Kombat”-style props and glued their eyes on the eye catchy visuals, set in the stylish versions of Toronto in which ladies can yank giant hammers from their purses and enjoyed to the hilt on “Seinfeld” theme.

“I’m so, so glad I made it,” said fan Jennifer Gladwell. “I didn’t know where we were supposed to go!”
In this comic flick Michael Cera who plays zero – calorie –soda America loving’ bassist spent entire evening dressed as Captain America .
He is smitten by his lady love who plays Ramona Flowers neon haired delivery gal & has to win her heart against all odds.

“I loved getting into excellent shape,” Cera said of his fight training for “Scott Pilgrim.” “That was great. I felt fantastic, mentally and physically. It was a long time ago.”

In an announcement that Universal was able to keep a surprise, Wright invited several hundred Hall H guests to see the whole film after the panel’s conclusion. It wasn’t the night’s only treat.

As soon as the film was finished, Canadian alternative rock band Metric (whose songs are featured in “Scott Pilgrim”) took the stage at the Balboa Theatre, as vocalist Emily Haines capped off a very successful “Scott Pilgrim” night. Now the wait is for August 13.
