Space shuttle Endeavour may have a delayed landing

Endeavour, the NASA space shuttle, that kicked took off with the six member crew is all set to land on earth tonight at 10.16 p.m at the Kennedy Space Center, if the weather condition remain favourable. Otherwise, Endeavour will be diverted to California or may have to spend another day in the orbit. The space shuttle has supplies to stay in the space till Tuesday.

However, NASA is considering all the possibilities to not let the landing being delayed till that late unless there are technical glitches.

Endeavour was on an International Space Station assembly mission. The shuttle added a new Tranquility module and Cupola (the window lined dome that offers a view of the space from within the station).Tranquility is basically a 7 meter long room which is now attached to the left side of the International space station’s central Unity module.

It will be used as the station’s gym, robotic arm control center and life support system hub. With the completion of Endeavour’s mission, the international space station is 98% complete in terms of volume requirements and with a mass of 800.000 pounds it is 90% complete in terms of weight requirements.

Endeavour’s mission left the station 98 percent complete by volume and 90 percent complete by weight, with a mass of nearly 800,000 pounds.
