Theme for CES 2010 – connectivity & Mobility

As the kick off of the Consumer Electronics Show draws near, the euphoria surrounding the show is gathering decibels. The show which, kick starts in Las Vegas, US, is expected to be based on two broad themes, namely mobility and connectivity. Companies are expected to showcase their repertoire of products, which will be heavy on mobile devices, and will lay foundations on how consumers stay connected, while staying mobile.

Laptops, e-readers and mobile phones are going to be in the limelight during the show. The show, which is considered to be the largest annual gathering of the technology and electronics industry is scheduled to have 110,000 visitors along with 2,500 exhibitors showcasing their wares.  Though two of the most attention-grabbing companies, Apple and Google won’t be present, a lot of other companies are expected to generate enough buzz with their gen-next products.

Motorola is believed to be unveiling new line android based phones after a strong debut of its Droid Phone. Telecom giants AT&T and Verizon will be present at the show and would be unveiling the details of the upcoming developments in networks and wireless connectivity.

In the PC segment, manufacturers like Dell, HP and Toshiba are considered to have developed light, small but powerful netbooks, smartbooks and laptops, which are expected to be showcased at the show.
