Toyota’s President Explain in China on Recalls

Thousands of consumers have pointed out complaint regarding problem of sudden increase of speed. And at least 34 deaths reported since 2000. Automaker asked from Toyota to explain its handling of complaints about sudden acceleration in its vehicles.

President of TOYOTA, Mr. Akio Toyoda will address on company’s recent quality woes on Monday in china. Company spokeswoman Ririko Takeuchi said that Toyota Motor Corp. will speak to reporters at a Beijing hotel.

Hitoshi Yokoyama, a spokesman for a China unit of Toyota said that Akio Toyoda will brief the media at 6:00 p.m. in Beijing with the aim of explaining to the public about its recent quality issues

China’s overall vehicle sales soared 45 percent last year to 13.6 million, overtaking the U.S. as the world’s biggest auto market.

The Nikkei reported that TOYOTA already announced for recall of approximate 75,000 multi- purpose sports vehicles in China, facing problems with the accelerator pedal.

A former trial lawyer with experience in auto accident litigation, Braley said that he want to know the conclusion whether the electronic throttle system in Toyota vehicles is a real factor in sudden acceleration.

Toyota announced a recall of 75,552 RAV4 sport-utility vehicles in China due to an accelerator pedal problem.

Toyota targets to increase China sales up to 800,000 vehicles this year against 709,000 in 2009.

As an estimated auto sale will rise 9 percent to 14 percent in February, a smaller than expected increase in U.S. but Analysts expect Toyota’s February sales drop at least 10 percent from a year ago.
