The US safety standards agency has asked Toyota to provide its documents relating to the recall made to bring the company in the verification spotlight that it has reacted for the recall for it hybrids species quick enough or not.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wanted to put Toyota in limelight by gathering the evidences for its timely reaction on the calls made, the authority is also conducting the research to check for the scope and its limit.
Upon the reaction of NHTSA, Toyota is co-operating to withstand with the research, evidence and information required by the authorities to magnify the response of Toyota.
NHTSA requires the documents to learn that, when Toyota learnt that the defect is persisting and has affected approximately six million vehicles in the US only.
Toyota is still on the verge of recalling its 8.5 million vehicles worldwide, the costlier affair due the break feel in the accelerator pedals and accelerator pedals getting stuck in the floor mats.
With response to NHTSA, Toyota takes the full responsibility to alert the government on a timely basis and adhere to the vehicle safety standards.
According to the NHTSA, federal law wants all the automakers to alert them within a deadline of five days of discovering a safety recall.
