In an event, Twitter unveiled some undisclosed statistics. Though Twitter has now more than 100 million users yet it disclosed about its staggering number of users. Like the Facebook, Twitter is also now in big market of social networks.
In a developer conference, the micro blogging network claimed that Twitter is adding more than 300,000 new users every day apart from its existing user number of more than 105 million. Twitter has planned to introduce several new features like the geo location services as well the URL shortening services.
Twitter gets most of its traffic from outside its own site. In fact, it claimed that 75% of its main traffic comes from several outside sources. These sources mainly include applications like TweetDeck or some other mobile clients.
Last week, Twitter bought the popular iPhone client Tweetie irrespective of the fact that it does not recognize the importance of having its own official mobile apps. It had also worked with Blackberry maker research in order to get an official client for that platform.
The Android mobile OS of Google would be graced up with the official Twitter app very soon and it was announced on Wednesday. However, it has not been announced yet whether the social networking company Twitter would acquire an existing Android app or would develop a new app in conjunction with the makers of this device.
The URL addresses would now be shortened which means that it can turn a long web address into a short string of characters.
