Well that’s what a recent job listing by the software-giant Microsoft indicates. A job ad from Microsoft seeking to hire a Principal Project Manager and a Software Test Engineer, revealed plans of Micorsoft to offer Xbox Live on its upcoming Windows Mobile platform. The ad also reads “We need a Principlal Program Manager who can help drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile… This person will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences ‘Live Enabled’ through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences.” The positions were meant for the LIVE team with focus on the integration of the gaming platform with the Windows Mobile Platform.
This step is considered to offer devices running on the Windows Mobile Platform the unavailable edge. It’s expected that it would help Windows Mobile devices measure up to the competition from popular devices like iPod Touch, Google Android Devices, and Sony’s PlayStation Portable.
The strategy pans out in line with Microsoft’s plans of ‘three screens’ concept, which delves at seamless and integrated experience between PC, television and mobile device. However, its still blur that whether the software giant is planning to actually integrate Xbox Live into Windows Mobile or working on a new device altogether, which would encompass the integration. Moreover, amidst all these speculations the future course of Zune HD remains unclear in terms of gaming.
