The reason being competition with the various sites and also millions of requests sent by the users. You tube is trying to make room for 24 hours-plus of videos uploaded to its Website every minute. YouTube credited the minute increase to protect copyrights for videos uploaded to the Website.
The copyrights on the site are more or less sorted and protected.
Although most of the videos seen on You tube are humorous and lame .But now You tube giving its users five more extra minutes to upload even longer videos then before.
With this You tube is definitely going to become the first choice for millions of people who wish to upload their videos .This new change also enables people to use You tube for Businesses, marketing, training, customer service, events and presentations.
You tube can benefit many aspiring video makers as their work can reach the public and also they can get the required feedback from them through comments and votes given on their contents. With the extra time the site is providing, the video makers will have a better advantage to their work.
In the future You tube may also increase the limit, followed by improvements in its Content ID system and other software that protects copyrights for videos uploaded to the Website.
“Now all of the major U.S. movie studios, music labels and over 1,000 other global partners use Content ID to manage their content on YouTube” , said Joshua Siegel , the product manager of upload and video Management in a blog posted on July 29.You tube is now providing the users with ‘‘15 minutes of fame’’ .By Wednesday , August 4 the users have to tag their videos “ yt15minutes” and upload it. One video will be selected by You tube and will be featured on the front page. YouTube clearly intends this as an audition utility, or at least a major self-promotional tool.
Joshua Seigel said “Imagine that this video is all the world will ever know about you: What would you want to communicate? What will be the enduring stamp you’ve left on us all?”
Previously videos were rejected for being too long, now the same videos can be uploaded. But before uploading them again the users must first delete it from “My videos” .
All these changes have occurred in You tube because of the success of ongoing technological efforts.
