GoDaddy expels neo-Nazi site over article on Charlottesville victim

Heather Heyer- Charlottesville

After spotting the article about Heyer, people on Twitter called on The Daily Stormer's domain's host GoDaddy to take it down.

The Stormer's eviction troubles began over the weekend, with a post by founder Andrew Anglin about Heather Heyer, a protester who was killed Saturday in Charlottesville, Va., after someone plowed into a crowd with a vehicle. Who would have thought.

By Monday afternoon, Stormer had registered its domain with Google.

After being made aware of the piece by Amy Suskind, founder of The New Agenda organisation, GoDaddy stated on Twitter that The Daily Stormer had 24 hours to move its domain to another provider for violating its terms of service.

GoDaddy tweeted Sunday night that it was booting the white supremacist website because it violating the web domain giant's terms of service.

Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old who was demonstrating against white nationalists in Charlottesville, was killed when a auto ploughed into a group of peaceful protesters who were holding signs saying "black lives matter" and "love". Both GoDaddy and Google committed to stop supporting the firm, arguing that it had violated their terms of service.

The Daily Stormer's publisher Andrew Anglin - and the author of the post which mocked Heyer's death - told Gizmodo he has received no communication from GoDaddy.

The Daily Stormer, probably the world's most notorious Nazi website, is now offline.

Anglin Here. I've Retaken Control of the Site.

Daily Stormer the controversial white supremacist website must find a new domain provider after it was given the boot by GoDaddy. But prominent accounts associated with the hacker group said that the attack may have been a "false flag" that was actually done by the people behind the site. But a number of prominent Anonymous figures said they knew nothing about such an operation, which didn't seem to accomplish anything but create a blog post with a picture of a person in a Guy Fawkes mask.

With The Daily Stormer's life hanging by a thread, there is much speculation that the publication will not last much longer. "Wonder if they are having issues finding a new host".
