Apple has a surprise for everyone. This time it seems for the iTunes. This time it is running adcontest which involves participation via downloading songs. One who downloads the 10 billionth song from its popular online music and app store will be rewarded with a cash price of $10,000.
The company is announcing the contest to rejoice the upcoming landmark of 10 billion songs downloads from the iTunes Store which simultaneously leaves a mark of popularity. This is based on a pragmatic sampling of the numbers sold, and could occur by the end of February. iTune store. It is also possible that the applicant can win the substantial amount without even taking part of the event i.e. without downloading a song; provided the contestant has to submit a form in iTune store the applicant would have to time the submission so that it comes right before the billionth download.
This is an aid to keep the clock of sales ticking as Apple already has crossed the five Billion mark June 2008 and predicted to double the amount in 18 months. It still doesn’t wait to catch its breath as it has apps business which piles up as the new products are being launched.
