Google chrome has seen a steady advancement in the popularity and market sharing among other browsers continuously for the 20th month. The Google fans can now cheer up as it is the third most popular browser on the net next to only Microsoft’s Internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
The constant increase in popularity is as a result of its user friendliness and the ease that comes along with its use. The market share of the Google browser stands at 8.9 percent and is slowly and steadily climbing up. Already the browser has managed to surpass the Apple’s Safari. Not just in the US but also outside Google Chrome has left Safari far behind indicating that it is gaining popularity worldwide. The other two major browsers together account for nearly 80 percent of the market share. Since its 2008 debut Google has brought many advancement into its browser and it is at almost its best now.

After five major releases of the chrome since its debut the software giant Google is now busy testing many more features for its Chrome 6 with their developers. The new features make the Chrome much faster and safer for use. The combination is rare to find in all the web browsers and Chrome should be given due credit for bringing functionality and security together. Some of the feature are the time it takes for the browser to load followed with the coolest and yet simple architecture that it offers the users. The tabs in the browser are all independent that is a virus arriving at one tab will be sorted at only the particular tab and not the entire browser. The Chrome is also safer option to hide the history after an visit to a blue site.
Opera 10.6 is the new competitor of the Chrome that is as good in terms of feature and user friendliness. However it still has a long way to go before making it big despite the train of good features. the browser till now has merely existing and surviving in the shadows.
