Google sorts mail for you, introduces Priority Inbox

Google believes that users can save time by assorting messages in the inbox according to their level of importance.  Not all mails coming into your inbox are equally important.  Google has expanded the messaging tool of its Google Apps suite online via the integration of a feature called ‘Priority Inbox.’ For now in beta, the function is to apply a filter on incoming messages and assign a priority level.

Google states that the ranking algorithm has a learning mode, which allows the user to adjust the level of message priority. To the editor of the online service, Priority Inbox is an answer to information overload. Priority Inbox is divided into three sections: ‘Important and unread’, ‘Scarred’ and ‘Everything Else’.

Gmail uses different variables to predict which emails are important, for example, people who are sent more e-mails often are important.  And the more you use Gmail, this service will work best. You can also manually alter the ranking of Priority Inbox by clicking the buttons. To expedite the processing of messages, they are classified in the inbox with emails in degree of importance the highest displayed first (on top).

Google wrote in a statement, “Each person sends and receives on average 150 messages a day, a deluge of emails of varying importance: updates on key projects from colleagues, superiors requests, reminders of appointments and often much less automated mail important. With such a plethora of information, determine what needs to be read and what needs to be answered a lot of time. ”
Inbox Priority will be accessible for users of Google Apps, in the next week.
